Four Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center researchers have been named to Clarivate Analytics’ 2019 list of “Highly Cited Researchers.” Those named include James Dumesic, UW–Madison professor of chemical and biological engineering; John Ralph, UW–Madison professor of biochemistry; G. Philip Robertson, Michigan State University professor of ecosystem science; and Shannon Stahl, UW–Madison professor of chemistry.

According to Clarivate Analytics, the list “identifies scientists and social scientists who produced multiple papers ranking in the top 1% by citations for their field and year of publication, demonstrating significant research influence among their peers.”

The purpose of the list is to celebrate researchers whose work is making the biggest expansions to the limits of human knowledge. David Pendlebury, an analyst at the Institute for Scientific Information, says these researchers “create gains for society, innovation and knowledge that make the world healthier, richer, more sustainable and more secure.”
