BRC Program Partners
A new phase in bioproduct and bioenergy research was announced in July 2017 with the establishment of four U.S. Department of Energy-funded Bioenergy Research Centers (BRCs), which will provide the scientific breakthroughs for a new generation of sustainable, cost-effective bioproducts and bioenergy. Collaboration between the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center (GLBRC) and the other BRCs—each led by a DOE National Laboratory or a top university—is a major focus that will help advance the goals of the BRC program. Interactions between the centers promotes an understanding of our capabilities, prevents duplication, and sparks collaborations to maximize the benefits of federal investment in the BRC program.
GLBRC also works closely with research facilities at our host institutions and a number of DOE user facilities, including the Environmental Molecular Sciences Laboratory, the Joint Genome Institute, and KBase.
