Joanne Morello
Joanne Morello has more than 13 years of experience working on decarbonization of the heavy-duty transportation sector through management of renewable fuels R&D and commercialization programs and playing advisory roles. Currently Joanne is a Sustainable Fuels Analyst with GE Aerospace Research where she provides strategic analysis and helps drive new programs and company strategy in SAF. Prior to joining GE she worked for Northrop Grumman, where she served as the lead technical advisor to the US Air Force on sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and helped manage a large public-private partnership commercialization program with the goal of building advanced biorefineries to make SAF and marine diesel. Previous to this, she was a technology manager with the US Department of Energy Bioenergy Technologies Office where she managed a diverse portfolio of R&D projects in biomass conversion and algae biofuels. Joanne’s previous academic research focused on plant pathology and plant-microbe interactions. Joanne received her PhD from Cornell University in 2008, her MS from the University of Arizona in 2002, and her BS in Agriculture from the University of Delaware in 2000.
