Donna Bates

Bates obtained her Ph.D. at UW-Madison in Microbiology and did postdoctoral work on virulence gene regulation in pathogenic bacteria. She has several years experience in the biotech sector where she worked on genetic engineering of microbes for optimized drug development. In addition to her role as research coordinator for GLBRC, Donna devotes a portion of her time to research on E. coli microbial conversion. Based in Madison, she has been with GLBRC since May 2012.
