Specific duties will focus on a DOE-funded project that involves the characterization of the mechanisms Streptomyces species use to produce select fatty acid- and isoprene-based bioproducts. These duties will include integrating genomic, transcriptomic, metabolomic, and proteomic data to direct the genetic manipulation and engineering of Streptomyces species for bioproduct formation. Duties will include active involvement in a multilaboratory collaboration with members of the Great Lake Bioenergy Research Center at UW-Madison, Michigan State University, and other academic and industrial partners.
