Enabling Technologies

The Enabling Technologies portfolio consists of seven projects covering three broad areas of study: Omics, Cell Wall Technology, and Plant Transformation Services.

Cell Wall Technologies

This area is comprised of three cell wall projects: the Cell Wall Digestibility Platform, the Cell Wall Analysis Facility, and the Cell Wall Profiling Facility.

Plant Transformation Services

This facility supports screening of Arabidopsis plant knockouts, production of Arabidopsis plant transformants and T87 cell culture transformations.



The GLBRC Arabidopsis Service Center (ASC) is currently offering three services to assist the GLBRC researcher: T-DNA screening service, Transformation of Arabidopsis with Agrobacterium, and Transformation of Arabidopsis T87 cell cultures.

Omics 

Metabolomics

The GLBRC Metabolomics Facility provides a variety of platforms to support systems biology (quantitative analysis of primary metabolites), “exploratory” or “non-targeted” metabolomics experiments, fatty acid profile analysis, amino acid analysis, fermentation end-point analysis and ethanol quantitation. This facility makes use of resources at both the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Michigan State University campuses.

Proteomics

GLBRC proteomics services are supported by Pacific Northwest National Laboratories (PNNL), and resources from both the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Michigan State University campuses. PNNL services specialize in supporting rapid global determination of protein expression patterns. GLBRC University resources specialize in core facility support and isotope-assisted proteomic quantification procedures.

Transcriptomics

Transcriptomics focuses on gene expression, transcription start and stop analyses, ChIP and more, explored on microarrays or through HT seqencing.
