Dig it! The Secrets of Soil, Greenhouse Gas Calculator This interactive, animated online activity puts students in the role of a farmer, deciding what crops to grow and what farming practices to use to balance high yield with lower greenhouse gas emissions. It is part of a larger exhibit on soils at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History
 
Video: Biofuels Debate Are all biofuels bad? How they are produced makes all the difference. This 5-minute video from the University of Minnesota Institute on the Environment does a nice job going through the issues.
 
Video: Fields of Study: Switchgrass breeding For those of you who ask us, ”Why switchgrass?”, this is the video for you. It describes the history of switchgrass cultivation in the United States as well as the different varieties and goals of the breeding program.
